My name is Shorena Barbakadze

I am the founder of this center

"PESVEBI" means ROOTS.

in 2001, I founded the Georgian Cultural Center "PESVEBI" to introduce the unique Georgian traditional culture to the US public.

DANCE JEIRANI
This dance is performed only by women.

DANCE KARTULI

Georgian dance is known as princely dance.

Traditionally, this dance is performed by a couple consisting of a man and a woman.

DANCE HONGA
This dance is a traditional Ossetian dance.

This dance is performed by a group of men and women and a solo part is performed by a pair of men and women. Men perform this dance on tiptoe, which is a very specific and beautiful sight.

DANCE AJARULI

This dance is a massive, very temperamental and fun dance from the region of Western Georgia called Adjara. It is distinguished by a variety of costumes.

DANCE OF WARRIORS.
KHORUMI.

This is a war dance. Centuries ago it was a ritual dance and was performed before a war and after a war in case of victory. Through this dance, we have preserved elements of ancient martial arts and a rhythm that counts 5/8 and is unique around the world.
